I don't know about other readers but I am constantly going through phases in my reading choices. I am currently in the middle of a pretty serious Dean Koontz love affair. I will admit that it is a bit of a love/strongly dislike type of relationship. I just finished The Husband and so I thought I would share my thoughts.
I really liked the plot to this book. It is about a young landscaper whose wife is kidnapped and being held for ransom. Nothing is quite what it seems in this story. The husband ( as the title suggests) is the main character. He discovers via phone call that his wife has been taken and he has no idea why. This is actually a major point in the story. He can't afford the ransom and has no idea why the professionals keeping his wife know so much about him. He has to turn to an unexpected cohort to help him meet the demands all the while trying to figure out what is really going on. This book has it all. It has murder, crazy people, revenge, and a twist you will never see coming. The only reason I gave it 4 out of 5 stars is the excessive internal dialogue of the main character in certain parts and the ending.
You know what I am reading now.....Dean Koontz's Frankenstein series! The series is not a new one but there are 5 books in it and that should keep me entertained for a while lol.
FYI: The photo up above is from Amazon where you can also buy The Husband for the Kindle, in paperback/hardcover, or on Audible.
