Deadpool may be my new favorite movie!

I am a huge fan of comics and pretty excited for all the pending superhero movies coming out in the next few years from both Marvel and DC.  I am a Marvel kind of gal so of course these are the ones I want to see most.  This year has already started super promising.  I could have added the link above for the official trailer from Youtube instead of this snippet but then you would be missing out on just how much hype Deadpool has built up.  This is the 1st of 12 mini clips released prior to Christmas to give viewers an example of the kind of snarky, smart-ass, and lewd behavior to be expected from the "Merc with a Mouth".  I love that Ryan Reynolds was picked to play Deadpool.  I can not imagine anyone else doing this role any justice.
This newest 20th Century Fox/Marvel collaboration is rated R and most appropriately. DO NOT TAKE CHILDREN TO THIS MOVIE. No matter how much they beg because you will be having several uncomfortable conversations with said child afterwards. You have been warned. I LOVED this film. I laughed so hard it was disgusting.  The boyfriend and I went on the Thursday night sneak peek because, yes, I needed to see it that badly.  The first thing that entertained me was that the opening credits did not list the names of the actors (ie : Reynolds, Baccarin, Gina Carano,T.J. Miller, Ed Skrein, Brianna Hildebrand). Instead it had little phrases like "the hot chick" and "directed by two asshats", different but I liked it.  Then within the first 20 minutes of the movie Deadpool has already poked fun of Ryan Reynolds and the Wolverine character.  The hits keep coming. Literal and figurative. The story is an origin story about a former Special Forces Operative who becomes a "gun for hire"so to speak or a mercenary.  He is crazy and sarcastic and then he falls in love with a stripper/prostitute (Baccarin) and starts wanting a future with her.  The love story unfolds and involves some pretty interesting scenes but you realize this relationship may be perfect for the two of them. Then Wade (pre-Deadpool persona) is diagnosed with stage 4 cancer. Enter "creepy secret agent" type offering a "cure" if Wade Wilson is interested.  Duh, of course, he decides to try even creepier treatment.  Enter Ajax ( Ed Skrein) and his side kick Angel Dust (Gina Carano) to "help cure" Wade by forcing his mutant gene to become active.  From this point on all Hell breaks loose and it is fabulous! There are also some other characters worth noting such as Negasonic Teenage Warhead (Hildebrand) and another X-Men character, as well as Blind Al (Leslie Uggams), and Weasel (T.J.Miller aka"the BFF").

Director Tim Miller did a fantastic job with this film.  I have recommended that all of my friends go see it. This movie has a little bit of everything so even those who are not familiar with the comic version of Deadpool will still appreciate it and find it hilarious.
