My "Friday Foodie" pick is a pick that I actually got at Barnes & Noble on a clearance shelf. I will admit the cover is the first thing that caught my eye. Also it should be mentioned that I have a child who is currently studying culinary arts in a vocational program in high school. I figured after reading the blurb on the back and inside cover that I could kill 2 birds with 1 stone. I get to read a really interesting book and my kid would maybe be interested enough to read it and gain some pretty valuable info. Plot twist...... it includes recipes and yes we have tried almost all of them.
The author actually runs a blog called Eat, Live, Run and trained at the Le Cordon Bleu school in Florida. She actually went to a traditional college first and still couldn't shake the little voice in the back of her head that was telling her to just go ahead and give culinary a try. Don't think that this book is full of just some random funny bits and recipes. There is a lot that she goes through. She experiences real set backs and loss. I just love everything about her writing style and of course I have totally stalked her blog. I recommend this to anyone who loves cooking. It's a fast read but when I was done I felt like the book packed so much into such a small amount of pages. A 5 star read for sure! P.S. I have made the spaghetti sauce recipe like 5 times, it's so good.
