I would gladly shout from the rooftops about my love for Netflix but I feel like anyone who reads these posts will know that about me already. I have been been watching so much Netflix lately that my TBR pile of books has slowly overtaken a whole counter. I have so many reviews to put up but first.......
Someone Great is a new Netflix Original film starring Gina Rodriguez (Jane the Virgin, Miss Bala), Brittany Snow (all the Pitch Perfect films), and DeWanda Wise (She's Gotta Have It). They are best friends just trying to live their best lives when Jenny (Gina Rodriguez) lands her dream job as a music writer for Rolling Stone and has to move from NYC to San Francisco. Her excitement is cut short when her long time boyfriend played by Lakeith Stanfield decides that their relationship isn't working and breaks up with her. Jenny turns to her best friends Blair and Erin to help her get through it and find some way to move on to the next phase of her life.
This movie was perfection! I could totally relate to being in that phase of life where you are grown-up but not quite ready to accept all the shitty things that come with it. I remembered looking at some of my friends and thinking that a responsible adult wouldn't go out on a Wednesday or Thursday night when they have a job to be at bright and early the next day (and being super jealous because I didn't go out). I absolutely related to the feeling of a relationship falling apart and knowing in the back of your mind that it really was time to move on , even if you don't want to admit it. I laughed, cried, and sang right along with the ladies in this film. Well done Netflix! I can't tell you how happy this movie made my heart! 5 stars all the way!!!
